Truth about mornings

…sometimes life just happens…

Austin in the dark

To prove that all roads lead to Rome, all states host their main conferences in their state capitals. Somehow this one is not only a state capital, but has a capitol, too. A really impressive architectural piece, too. I’ll stop my comments there, because sometimes my cosmopolitan villager view tends to compare authentic items with mimicked works, and the result is most of the time a german word: “kitsch”…and this one doesn’t really fit there, it’s a decent looking piece. It looks really nice in the dark.

The humidity made the night deeper and colder than it really was. But there’s something about good company that really warms the soul. That and the fact that, for a whole week, I will see no evil and speak no evil…fingers crossed…evil is everywhere… but one can always hope…

Despite the registration rush there was no turmoil in the convention center, and the handful of people, and the fact that the exhibit hall has not yet been set up, made it look like the show hadn’t started yet…and turned the whole day into a “forced lesson”. True boredom…Sitting through something that was meant to be enlightening and progressive, I could feel the grass growing outside in the little  rain that was sprinkling the sidewalk…sidewalk…finally a place with sidewalks, where you can actually walk to some ordinary destination and not make it look like a camping trip…trip…I should really look into that trip to Disneyland, little feet is getting anxious…anxious…I wonder if that dragon lady will ever get it through…her head…get it through her head…My head was busting at its seams…couldn’t have that, now, could I? I got out of the session and stuck my cheek on the window. A security person asked if I needed anything. I wanted to tell him exactly what I needed, but poor man couldn’t have done anything about it, so why upset him…I just thanked him for his kind question, and smiled. I got a smile back. That’s a good day’s crop.

The dark was setting again. Deep, uneventful, and quiet. Austin is just not animated in the dark…or maybe coming from the Aurora Borealis land, my eyes need more than just a wet, dark, quiet night…
